V is a combination File Viewer / Directory Browser for Windows
95/98 and Windows NT/2000.
V is an invaluable utility for anybody who spends much time
navigating directories and viewing files. For those who prefer to work
in DOS Boxes, V provides a fast and convenient way of viewing files -
just type V Filename and the file is right in front of you. There is
no need to switch to Explorer and certainly no need to fumble with a
File Open Dialog Box!
For those old enough to remember, V is similar in functionality
to LIST - the classic DOS program, with the exception that V is a true
32-bit GUI application. If you have made the jump to Windows but still
find yourself using LIST, then V is for you!
- Handles large files with ease - and large really does mean LARGE!
- An easy to use interface which takes full advantage of keyboard
shortcuts and right-click menus
- View/extract/install contents of ZIP files.
- Files may be fixed at a column position so anything to the left
of the column will not scroll
- Favorite files and directories may be bookmarked for easier
retrieval
- V can be extended through use of User Commands
- Wrap long lines to the screen or to a fixed length
- Handles all combinations of End-Of-Line characters. In
particular, Unix format.
- Columns of text may be copied to the clipboard
- Selections may be appended to the clipboard
